8 contemporary Western Australian artists create artworks to promote public discourse around illegal dumping
1 March – 29 March
Veronica McGRATH Vince AUSTIN
Illegal dumping is a problem in the natural and
suburban environments of the City of Swan, and
this group of artists are setting out with the aim of
re-imagining our use of materials and exploring
possibilities for recycling and art-making.
They believe that art can initiate public discourse which
leads to change, and raise awareness for issues in society.
This exhibition will make use of materials
sourced via illegal dumping, and will undertake a
residency at the Bullsbrook Recycling plant. Here
the artists will make use of the plant facilities and
materials with the aim of making the public more
aware of recycling options on offer at the recycling
plant in the City of Swan.
